Foundation

Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre is managed by the Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre Foundation, established on April 17, 2008. The foundation was founded by the Republic of Estonia, with the Ministry of Culture acting on its behalf.

The Jõulumäe Centre was established in 1976 and has since grown into one of Estonia’s most significant sports centers, operating year-round. It is used by both recreational athletes and elite sports professionals, serving as a key training and competition venue for numerous Estonian sports federations and national sports organizations.

The foundation’s mission is to develop and manage a center for physical activity, recreation, hobbies, training, competitions, and education. It aims to provide opportunities for nature-based learning, amateur and professional sports, and active outdoor recreation.

Management and Governance

The governing bodies of the foundation are the council and the management board. The council consists of members appointed by the founder and is responsible for appointing the management board. The term of office for both council and management board members is up to five years.
