From 18 to 25 January, five skiing lessons took place at Jõulumäe as part of the “100 Skiing Lessons” programme, organised in cooperation with the Estonian Ski Association and Estonian Health Trails SA. The lessons were held on Jõulumäe’s artificial snow ski track and offered learning opportunities and the joy of movement for both children and adults.
In total, three lessons were organised for adults, two of which covered both classical and freestyle techniques, while one focused solely on freestyle. In addition, two lessons were held for children – one for those aged 7–10 and another for 7–15, both focusing on freestyle skiing.
Altogether, 78 participants took part in the five sessions, clearly demonstrating strong interest in learning to ski and developing skiing skills among both young people and adults.
The lessons were led by experienced coaches from Jõulu Ski Club – Risto Vaher, Kadri Madissoo and Anu Taveter – whose guidance helped participants improve their skiing technique in a safe and supportive environment while enjoying the sport.
The “100 Skiing Lessons” programme helps bring skiing closer to people of all ages, and Jõulumäe is pleased to be part of an initiative that encourages people to stay active, learn new skills and enjoy the winter natural environment.
“Now in its fifth year, the ‘100 Skiing Lessons’ campaign, led by the Estonian Ski Association and Estonian Health Trails SA, attracted 1,500 participants to snow-covered ski trails across Estonia. The free skiing lessons were aimed at children, young people and adults, offering the opportunity to start skiing or improve existing skills under the guidance of experienced coaches.”
