Jõulumäe Cross-Country Ski Series – Stage 1

On Wednesday, 7 January 2026, the first stage of the Jõulumäe Cross-Country Ski Series took place at Jõulumäe, bringing a large number of skiing enthusiasts to the tracks despite the crisp winter weather. Air temperatures ranged from –13 to –15 degrees Celsius, but good track conditions and a strong sporting spirit offered participants a true winter racing experience.

A total of 63 competitors registered for the event, with 59 successfully finishing the race. In the youth categories, 32 athletes reached the finish line, while 27 competed in the adult categories. Youth races started at 5:30 pm, followed by the adult starts at 7:00 pm. The competition took place on 1 km and 1.25 km artificial snow loops, with race distances varying according to age groups. The results of Stage 1 can be found HERE.

The opening stage was raced using the freestyle technique and also marked the first stage of the Pärnumaa Cross-Country Skiing Championships. The Pärnumaa champions in cross-country skiing will be determined after Stage 2 based on the overall standings, adding extra excitement and sporting significance to the entire series. The summary of the Pärnumaa Championships Stage 1 can be found HERE.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all participants who took to the tracks despite the cold conditions, as well as to the organising team, track masters and volunteers whose efforts ensured the smooth running of the event. Special thanks also go to all supporters who helped create a warm and encouraging competition atmosphere at Jõulumäe.

The second stage of the Jõulumäe Cross-Country Ski Series will take place on 14 January 2026 — we look forward to welcoming everyone back on the tracks!
