New member appointed to the Supervisory Board of Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre

As of 9 June 2026, Riido Villup has become a new member of the Supervisory Board of Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre.

Riido Villup has extensive management experience in both the public sector and the social care sector. He has managed Tammiste Care Home for more than ten years and served as Deputy Mayor of Pärnu for four years. He currently serves as a member of Pärnu City Council, Chair of the Audit Committee, and a member of both the Social Affairs Committee and the Regional Development Committee. In addition, he is a member of Lions Clubs International and the Estonian Reform Party.

Sport plays an important role in Riido’s daily life. He plays tennis and basketball, enjoys running, and also takes part in swimming and bowling.

Riido’s appointment to the foundation’s Supervisory Board brings valuable knowledge and experience to the future development of the centre.

We wish Riido every success in his new role and look forward to a pleasant and productive collaboration with the Jõulumäe team!

On 21 May, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Jõulumäe Sports Centre together with former and current employees, valued partners, supporters and friends. The jubilee day brought together people who, over the years, have contributed to the development of the centre and helped shape it into a beloved place where the joy of movement, nature, sport and community come together.

In autumn, Jõulumäe Sports Centre, in cooperation with Pärnumaa Sports Association, will offer school groups a free 90-minute cultural education programme titled “Movement Supports Mental Health and Young People’s Quality of Life”. The programme combines a mental health lecture with experiential and engaging physical activities in Jõulumäe’s natural and sporting environment.

Did you know that hiking doesn’t always have to mean long distances and heavy equipment? Sometimes, a peaceful walk along a forest trail is enough. Jõulumäe’s hiking trails offer a wonderful opportunity for this in every season. The marked hiking trails winding through Jõulumäe’s pine forests lead you through a unique dune landscape, bog areas and elevated spots with enchanting views. There are trails of different lengths and difficulty levels to choose from – 5, 10, 15 and 25 km – suitable for families, school groups and experienced hikers alike. Hiking at Jõulumäe is an easy way to combine movement, fresh air and time for yourself. Here, you can move at your own pace, notice the nature around you and discover Jõulumäe from a whole new perspective. Mariell Jüssi, Seakayakingestonia, hiking guide: “One of the most exciting surprises is Jõulumäe’s terrain – a small ‘mountain range’ hidden in the pine forest, which you don’t notice at first glance. For international hiking guests, this always comes as a big surprise. After spending a day in Jõulumäe’s dune landscape, no one thinks of Estonia as a completely flat country anymore. And secondly, of course, there is the Jõulumäe team. Jõulumäe Summer Season invites you to get moving

The spring movement season at Jõulumäe is gaining new momentum – from 1 May, the asphalt-covered activity trails, tennis courts and padel court are open to visitors. The 1.1–3.5 km asphalt-covered trails running through Jõulumäe’s pine forest are suitable for roller skating, roller skiing, cycling, running and walking. The wide and safe trails offer great opportunities for active movement for both recreational users and those in training, and are also accessible for wheelchair users and visitors with pushchairs. In addition, four tennis courts welcome visitors for training sessions, friendly matches and active leisure. You can come and play with your own equipment or rent rackets and balls on site.
