Last Sunday, Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre was filled with the joy of movement and vibrant autumn colours as the 40th anniversary edition of the Jõulumäe Forest Run took place. The event brought together a large number of running enthusiasts from both near and far, and alongside the jubilee run, the Pärnu County Cross-Country Champions were crowned. In total, 316 participants took part in the 40th Jõulumäe Forest Run.
The sunny day began with children’s races, featuring 127 young runners across various age groups. It was heart-warming to see so many parents and siblings cheering on the little ones as they made their way along the course. At the finish line, every child received a small gift, a medal and a diploma to remember their sporty day.
The main race hosted 108 competitors, and this year’s winner of the 40th Jõulumäe Forest Run was Sander Jürs, who completed the nearly 10-kilometre course with remarkable confidence. The fastest woman was Mirtti Verbitskas, continuing her impressive winning streak.
After the start of the main race, 81 participants set out on the health walk, representing a wide range of ages. We are especially pleased to see more and more walkers joining with their pets each year. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy time together and spend time in nature.
