Did you know that beach soccer has its roots in Brazil in the late 19th century, and that the first official beach soccer tournaments were held as early as 1957? Today, it has grown into a fast-paced and exciting sport played all over the world.

At Jõulumäe, beach soccer can be played both indoors and outdoors. Jõulumäe’s sand hall is unique in the region – it features a year-round indoor sand hall with a beach soccer field that meets FIFA requirements. In addition, Jõulumäe also has an outdoor sand court, offering the chance to enjoy beach soccer in the fresh air.

Beach soccer at Jõulumäe is suitable for both top-level athletes and recreational players – whether for serious training, a friendly match, or simply an active and different way to spend time with friends.

“One of my brightest memories is connected to the opening of Jõulumäe’s sand hall, when the Estonian national team in blue shirts met the opposing team in white shirts on the field. It was a special moment, as the match took place in front of one of the world’s best beach soccer players, Portuguese legend Madjer,” recalls Kristjan Marmor.

In the series “Discover Jõulumäe!”, we highlight one exciting activity you can try at Jõulumäe each month.

For international hiking guests, this always comes as a big surprise. After spending a day in Jõulumäe’s dune landscape, no one thinks of Estonia as a completely flat country anymore. And secondly, of course, there is the Jõulumäe team.
