Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre Receives the “Hiker-Friendly” Label

We are delighted to announce that Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre is now officially a holder of the “Hiker-Friendly” label!

This label recognises service providers who are committed to offering suitable, welcoming and practical services for hikers. Jõulumäe is located in a naturally beautiful pine forest area, features several hiking trails within the centre’s territory and is situated close to the Baltic Coastal Hiking Route — making hikers a natural and valued focus group for us.

The label is awarded in Estonia by the Estonian Rural Tourism Organisation. To apply, we mapped our services, completed the self-assessment questionnaire, and successfully passed the application process.

Raili Mengel, Executive Director of the Estonian Rural Tourism Organisation:
“I am sincerely pleased that Jõulumäe Recreational Sports Centre decided to use the ‘Hiker-Friendly’ label to let visitors know that important support services for hikers are available at the centre. It is worth noting that the label is awarded on the same basis in all Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), and accessibility requirements were recently added to the criteria.”

What does this label mean for Jõulumäe and hikers?

  • Hikers can be confident that they are welcome at Jõulumäe and will find services designed to meet their needs.

  • We will be more visible to the hiking community and included in outreach and marketing activities coordinated by Estonian Rural Tourism targeted at this audience.

  • We are now able to use the label in our marketing materials, communication and messaging, highlighting our connection to nature and active outdoor experiences.

We are proud of this recognition and warmly welcome all outdoor and hiking enthusiasts to explore the trails and opportunities that Jõulumäe has to offer!
